Caroline Lockhart is one of the top Western Riding Instructor/Trainers in the U.K and has held numerous National titles in every discipline.
We offer Instruction and training from 'grass roots' introductory to Western right through to National levels of competition.
WES (Western Equestrian Society) is the main governing body for Western Riding in the U.K and is open to all breeds. It was founded in 1985 with the main aim of promoting the sport here in the U.K.
Excel holds many WES affiliated shows throughout the year for all levels with classes especially designed to introduce novice riders and horses to showing.

Western star of EXCEL is the Morgan Horse stallion PICTURE PERFECT, owned by Caroline Lockhart. A multi-talented horse he has excelled in pleasure, trail, horsemanship and showmanship. He has been inducted onto the WES Hall of Fame (currently the only non-Quarter Horse to do so) and is on the Roll of Honour with the Morgan Horse Association and the United Saddlebred Association, having earned his Bronze award with them in 2005. Picture Perfect exhibited at the 2007 BMHS European's where he won all his performance classes and took the Western Championships.
CELTIC CHAMPAGNE is an American Saddlebred mare, owned by Lynn Jarvis, who has competed in many disciplines including western.
BLUESTONE PHARAOH is a ilver Dapple Morgan Horse gelding owned by Di Stark. At the 2006 BMHS European Championship he won the Novice Western class and took the Reserve Western Championship which he also retained in 2007. At the 2007 BMHS Spring Show, Devon won both his classes and then took the Reserve in the Hunter/Western Championships. 2008 was even better when he took both the Western Championship title at the BMHS Spring Show in May AND at the BMHS European Championship show in September.

MM BUCK'S FIZZ- A 4 year old Morgan mare, owned and ridden by Caroline Lockhart. This bright star took Reserve Western Champion at the BMHS European Championships 2008. A fantastic result by any means but especially considering it was her first time out!

This sassy trio have taken the British Reining world by storm this year, not only in the highly competitive youth division but Emily, at only 15 has been teaching the adults a thing or two!
Emily has recently been crowned BR Youth Champion AND BR Rookie Reining Champion!
KENTUCKY GOLD is owned by Jacquetta Brown & Richard Ford and is a real schoolmistress. She has points in most western disciplines and has converted countless people to the art of western riding.
